Nature of services
All services provided are non-medical and non-clinical in nature. We provide house sitting, pet care, farm animal care, and property management during homeowner absences.
Companion care, where offered, is informal social company only. It does not constitute professional caregiving, therapy, counseling, or medical assistance of any kind. We are not licensed medical or mental health professionals.
Liability
While we take every precaution and care deeply about the wellbeing of your animals and property, we are not liable for:
- Pre-existing health conditions of animals
- Natural causes of illness or death
- Unforeseen property issues or structural failures
- Circumstances beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to extreme weather, natural disasters, or utility failures
Consultation and meet & greet policy
Video consultations are complimentary. Your first consultation call is offered at no charge with no obligation on either side.
In-person meet & greets outside our local area may require a travel fee or deposit depending on distance, the amount of which is stated on the consultation booking page. The full deposit is applied toward your sit. If you choose not to proceed with a booking following an in-person meeting, the deposit is non-refundable to cover our travel and time.
Payment and cancellation
Full payment terms, including deposit requirements, payment schedule, and cancellation policy, are outlined in these General Terms & Conditions. Each booking will include written confirmation of assignment-specific details, including fees, payment deadlines, and any agreed variations. In the event of any conflict between these General Terms & Conditions and a client-specific Sitting Agreement, the Sitting Agreement will govern.
As a general policy, a 25% deposit (50% for holiday bookings) is required to reserve booking dates. The remaining balance is due by the start of care, unless otherwise agreed in writing before booking.
Cancellation Policy
- Within 48 hours of booking, provided the cancellation occurs more than 14 days before the scheduled start date, the deposit is fully refundable.
- More than 60 days before the scheduled start date: Deposit refunded, less a 25% administrative fee.
- 30–60 days before the scheduled start date: 50% of the deposit is retained.
- Less than 30 days before the scheduled start date: Deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
Any non-refundable travel expenses incurred in connection with a booking are non-refundable and remain the responsibility of the client.
Payment is processed in U.S. dollars via the method agreed upon at booking.
Sitting agreement
All services are governed by our Sitting Agreement, which outlines the responsibilities of both parties, including care expectations, property access, emergency procedures, communication, payment terms, and other applicable policies. New clients accept the Sitting Agreement before their first booking. Future bookings may be confirmed in writing and remain subject to the current Sitting Agreement unless otherwise agreed. In the event of any conflict between general terms and a client-specific Sitting Agreement, the Sitting Agreement will govern.
Photography and media
We may share photographs of animals and properties on our website and social media for portfolio purposes. No personally identifying information is published. Clients may opt out of the use of photographs of their animals or property by notifying us in writing.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. For international assignments, local laws may additionally apply. Any disputes will be handled in good faith between both parties before any formal proceedings are initiated.
